When you are about to begin with your dissertation, the formation of a thesis can be a difficult task. You have or cite or claim all the researches whether it is used as the result or generalization because it is not your work. You have to clearly state who was the author or where did you got this research from. Good referencing allows interpreting the sources that whether it is reliable and relevant to your research or not. Most of the references or sources are used in the literature view of the thesis or dissertation. But you are can also refer from outside sources for your thesis but it should be relevant to your approach for the thesis.
